Vancouver — The Vancouver Canucks defeated the Boston Bruins 3-2 at Rogers Arena on Saturday, snapping a four-game losing streak. Brock Boeser scored his second goal on an overtime power play.

To tap in a powerful feed from J.T. Miller at the top of the left face-off circle, Boeser positioned himself on the right side of the crease.

With 1:11 remaining in the third frame, Filip Hronek leveled the score at 2-2, and Thatcher Demko pulled for an additional attacker.

The Canucks (38-16-6) had not lost more than two games in a row this season, and Miller had three assists and Demko had 20 stops. Vancouver reclaimed the top spot in.

The Bruins (34-12-3) have points in five straight games (2-0-3) but haven’t won in regulation since defeating the Canucks 4-0 in Boston on February 8. Jeremy Swayman made 35 stops, and Jesper Boqvist and Danton Heinen scored.

Swayman was screened by Boeser at the top of the crease, high on the glove side, but Hronek beat him with a slap shot from the point to equalize the score at 2-2.

At 12:49 of the third period, Boeser made it 2-1 with a bouncing puck shot by Swayman on the blocker side from the left face-off dot following a Nikita Zadorov cross-ice pass.

After slipping behind Hronek in a face-off in the neutral zone, Boqvist scored on a breakaway from the hash markers to give Boston a 1-0 lead at 5:27 of the second period. Boqvist scored on a forehand deke in close around the outstretched right pad of Demko after receiving a great pass from Justin Brazeau, who was playing in his third NHL game, and dodging defenseman Quinn Hughes.

At 11:15, Heinen doubled the score after Trent Frederic attempted a wraparound from the other side. He did this by shoving the puck inside the left post from the top of the crease.
