Three Knicks players are out for Saturday’s game against the Celtics.

NEW YORK With a healthy roster, the Celtics are still the greatest team in the NBA, but the Knicks, their division rivals, aren’t doing as well. The Knicks have three players listed on the injury report ahead of their 8:30 p.m. Saturday game at Madison Square Garden.

It should come as no surprise that Julius Randle (shoulder), OG Anunoby (elbow), and Mitchell Robinson (ankle) are still sidelined. Although they have played with some vigor at times this season, the Knicks have been severely impacted by injuries. However, their goal ahead of the playoffs is to move up the standings with their present roster.

This season, New York has come as something of a surprise, and the company was very active in the trade market. Joining All-Star guard Jalen Brunson, Anunoby brought much-needed energy to the team after leaving the Raptors. Sensing a chance to contend, the Knicks also acquired Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks from the Pistons.

This season, the Celtics have already defeated the Knicks three times; the fourth meeting is scheduled for this coming Saturday. It’s interesting to note that the NBA’s new in-season tournament forces the division rivals to play five times this year. Both teams faced off against one another after both suffered losses in the knockout stage quarterfinals.

After defeating the 76ers, the Knicks are currently 34-22 and fourth in the East. They might pose a challenge in the conference as they are just one game behind the Bucks in third place. In the standings, the C’s still hold a comfortable seven-game lead over the Cavaliers in second place.
