For All-Star Weekend, Curry and Podziemski lead the Warriors’ representation.
This weekend in Indiana is the 2024 NBA All-Star weekend, and the Warriors will be well-represented. Every day a different player will compete for the Dubs: on Friday, rookie Brandin Podziemski will take on WNBA great Sabrina Ionescu in a 3-point shootout; on Saturday, Stephen Curry will take on Ionescu in the Rising Stars game; and on Sunday, Curry will participate in the All-great game.
FRIDAY’SÂ RISING STARS GAME
Rookie Brandin Podziemski was selected to the Rising Stars game, giving the Warriors their fifth selection in the past five years. Podziemski has the highest plus-minus of any Warrior this season (+163) and ranks top-five among rookies in double-doubles (6). » Full Story
NBA rookies, sophomores, and G-League players compete in the Rising Stars game, a mini-tournament consisting of four teams and three games. Three of the teams are made up of NBA players selected from a draft pool, while the fourth team is made up entirely of G-league players. NBA Hall of Famer Pau Gasol selected Podziemski in the first round of the 2023 NBA Draft, matching him with a number of exceptional rookies, such as Victor Wembanyama, the first overall pick, Brandon Miller, the second pick, and Miami Heat wing Jaime Jaquez Jr.
On Friday, Rising Stars practice will begin at 8:30 a.m. (NBATV), and TNT will air the games at 6 p.m.
