I’m not sure if it was intentional. I was hit in there, for sure. That’s just the way things are. We don’t stop playing.”

Miami, Florida — During Sunday’s victory over the Heat, Kristaps Porzingis of the Celtics was fouled three times after colliding with Bam Adebayo of Miami.

Porzingis requested a play review by the referees. Adebayo allegedly struck Porzingis in the groin. Porzingis bowed over in anguish as he kicked his leg in the air.

Porzingis stated, “You know, to be honest, I wanted them to challenge it.” “Let’s try to acquire something. However, I suppose the idea was that I did kind of bump him first, and if I could have stayed, perhaps we could have had an unsportsmanlike or whatever.

However, to be completely honest, this type of play occurs and will most likely occur even more throughout the playoffs. As you can imagine, a lot of different things will happen, Porzingis continued. “I’m not sure if it was deliberate. I was hit in there, for sure. That’s just the way things are. We don’t stop playing.

Porzingis scored 25 points in the end on 8 of 14 shots. He made two three-pointers and caught two alley-oops in quick succession.

Boston’s defense saw some zone looks from Miami, but the Celtics were able to routinely get the ball to Porzingis at the free-throw line, which gave the 7-foot-3 center the opportunity to drive, make jumpers, and set up open looks for teammates.

Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla stated, “I think that’s where our guys are continuing to understand how they positively impact each other. KP did a good job of executing there.” “We tackle matches as a team, and because of the personnel we have, matchups will be a certain way.”
