“That was Ronnie O’Sullivan at his very best,” Jimmy White said in his assessment of Rocket’s incredible performance.

Following his record-breaking, record-extending success as the UK champion, Ronni O’Sullivan proves he’s the “best we’ve ever seen” – Jimmy White.

Was there ever any doubt? For the record-breaking eighth time, Ronnie O’Sullivan has won the UK Championship; Jimmy White feels this proves that he is the “best we’ve ever seen”. The 48-year-old Rocket defeated Ding Junghui 10-7 to win the coveted tournament and become its youngest and oldest winner. Thinking back on his “incredible career and legacy,” Neal Foulds said.

According to the great Jimmy White, Ronnie O’Sullivan has once again shown why he’s the “best we’ve ever seen” in snooker.
Two days before turning forty-eight, The Rocket made history again by defeating Ding Junhui 10-7 to win the UK Championship for a record-tying eighth time.

As he secured the final three frames to win the trophy in style, O’Sullivan blasted a spectacular seven-minute century, treating the York crowd to some vintage O’Sullivan action.

This victory comes thirty years after, at the age of seventeen, he took the snooker world by surprise by defeating Stephen Hendry to win his first title in York. He is now the UK Championship’s youngest and oldest winner.
In the Eurosport studio, White reflected on the accomplishment, saying, “He’s such a great champion, an unbelievable snooker player – the best we’ve ever seen.”He trailed Zhou Yuelong 5-4 in this tournament, but ultimately prevailed 6-5. In addition, he produced while trailing Anthony McGill 2-0. He was like the player of the tournament against Hossein [Vafaei], taking him apart with ease. Ding suddenly responds with a 7–7, but he goes for the whip and uses it once more.

Neal Foulds expressed his admiration, stating: “It’s a fantastic legacy and an amazing career. He had spent the entire week looking for his best form, so that tiny explosion at the end was just what he needed to achieve. However, he was at his best when Ding struck a century against him in the 7-7 final. He discovered the shape that has evolved throughout those thirty years. That’s what champions do—he discovered it. In around seven minutes, he won a frame to lead 8–7. Over the years, none of these things—or the way he does them—has truly changed.”
O’Sullivan, who has always been a perfectionist, was rather more reserved about his most recent achievement, though.

Although not excellent, it was passable. Tonight, I remained focused and applied my reasoning. If Ding was going to defeat me, I felt like I had to at least make him work for it,” he remarked.

“This afternoon, I sensed some sabotage coming in, and I became a little impatient. But, that’s truly how things have been all week.”I had the impression that I played snooker like Seve Ballesteros does golf, spotting trees and gaffs everywhere. It eventually catches up to you and is quite exhausting.”
