Suns defeat Bulls with a goal from Kevin Durant (43), who also hits the game-winning shot.

January 23 – On Monday night, the Phoenix Suns defeated the visiting Chicago Bulls 115-113 thanks to a game-winning 17-footer made by Kevin Durant with 1.6 seconds remaining.

The Suns won for the sixth time in a row as Durant scored a career-high 43 points to hit 40 for the second straight game. Devin Booker added 16 points, while Bradley Beal scored 18 for Phoenix.
With seconds remaining, DeMar DeRozan missed a disputed 3-point effort, handing the Bulls their tenth consecutive head-to-head defeat versus Phoenix.

DeRozan scored 21 points for Chicago, while Coby White finished with 26 points, matching his career high of 10 rebounds and nine assists. The Bulls, who have only lost three of their previous nine games, were led by Nikola Vucevic, who finished with 19 points, 17 rebounds, and seven assists. Alex Caruso scored 15 points.
To help Phoenix overcome a 23-point deficit, Durant tied his season-high six 3-pointers.
With 29.5 seconds left, Durant made a perfect 3-pointer to give Phoenix a 113-111 edge. on 22.9 seconds remaining, DeRozan tied the score on a 10-footer in the lane.

For the second consecutive game, Zach LaVine (ankle) was not available for Chicago, which was led by 13 points apiece from Patrick Williams and Ayo Dosunmu.
For the Suns, who shot 51.8 percent from the field, including 14 of 34 from 3-point range, Drew Eubanks added 10 points and eight rebounds. For Phoenix, Eric Gordon (wrist) did not play.
Just under four minutes into the third quarter, Phoenix was behind by twenty-three points. By the end of the quarter, the gap had shrunk to seven points, and Durant’s personal 7-0 run with 6:56 remaining gave Phoenix the lead, 95-94.

Chicago made 14 of 37 shots from behind the arc and 48.4% of its shots from the floor.
The Bulls led 37–22 at the end of the first quarter after making 15 of 23 shots, including 7 of 14 from 3-point range.
Chicago was ahead 66–49 at the break.
With 8:06 left in the third quarter, DeRozan’s 3-point shot put the Suns ahead 79-56. The Suns went on to score 27 of the last 38 points in the quarter.
With 4:10 remaining in the third quarter, Durant made back-to-back 3-pointers to give Phoenix a significant boost and help them close the gap to 84-70.

Afterwards, with 7.8 seconds remaining, Durant made a jumper to cap out a 13-point quarter, leaving the Suns behind 90-83 going into the last round.
