Quick Recap: Suns rally in the fourth quarter to defeat the Pelicans behind Booker’s 58 points.

You must be grateful for what you have, even in the bad times. Devin Booker is a superstar for the Phoenix Suns, and he gave us a reminder of his brilliance on Saturday night. The Suns were down as much as 24 points in the game, so it felt lost, but Booker willed his side to victory.

To accomplish so, he made 21 of 35 shots for 59 points. A tough and deep team, the New Orleans Pelicans were a challenge. Zion has repeatedly reminded you that you are powerless to stop him. On the court, he gets what he wants.

However, Booker was the star of the show as he helped the Suns to an 18-12 record after turning in a few subpar outings.

First-half game flow
In this game, Devin Booker and the Suns came out strong. That is to say, there were no real-life fights during this game. Devin Booker established a rhythm, which allowed the Phoenix Suns to lead the Pelicans early on. In Q1 points, Booker was 5-of-8 for 12 points.

However, the remaining Suns were having difficulty. In the first quarter, Book’s teammates only managed to score 15 points on 5-of-16.

Still, we were reminded of the Pelicans’ strength and depth. And how they’re not, the Suns. Due to Deandre Ayton’s absence, CJ McCollum and Jonas Valanciunas capitalized, scoring 25 points between them while Zion Williamson only managed 2 points.

Halfway through the first quarter, Phoenix lost all of their shooting and eventually found themselves losing 34-27.

Similar to the first quarter, the Suns were unable to make a three-pointer. Instead of going after the cylinder, they were seizing a lot of them. The group shot 2-of-11 from beyond the arc in the quarter. In the second, Devin Booker scored ten.

The act was similar to what we seen in New Orleans the previous week, where they dug a bigger and bigger hole as they kept missing because they were infatuated with a deep ball. Nobody, save Booker, could make their own shot.

The Pelicans extended their lead by outshooting the Suns 29-19 in the second quarter, capitalizing on the Phoenix philosophy of “one and done.” It appeared as though there would be no stopping the well-rounded New Orleans team. It was pretty much game over. Was it, or was it not?

The Second Half
In the third quarters, Devin Booker was on display. In an attempt to help the Phoenix Suns win the game, he scored 20 points and exerted every effort.

Although his team started to convert on some three-pointers, going 6-of-10 from beyond the arc in the quarter, Devin Booker was the one who persisted in attacking in all facets of the offense. For the quarter, he was 8 out of 12.

The Pelicans used Zion Williamson in a number of ways while being patient. Unquestionably successful. A wide open three from a double team. Zion put an end to any Phoenix runs you might have felt.

But that was short-lived. Devin Booker was going nuclear for that reason. In the third, the Suns defeated the Pelicans 38–26.

Booker picked up the third where he left off in the fourth. En fuego. unconscious. putting the team on his shoulders.

During the fourth, the Suns and Pelicans—more specifically, #1 Booker and #1 Zion—were switching up their offensive strategies. The Suns rallied from a 24-point deficit with 6:52 remaining in the game to equal the score at 99 points apiece.

Towards the end, Josh Okogie consistently pulled down offensive rebounds, which extended Phoenix’s possessions and disheartened the New Orleans defense. He also put the Suns in the bonus, a spot they don’t often find themselves in, and the Pelicans in foul trouble.

Mikal Bridges tangled up CJ McCollum with 1:25 remaining, giving the team a 111-109 lead and a crucial jump ball. The Suns would win with a jump ball. The Suns’ following possession ended with a three-pointer from CP3. Their fifteenth made three of the evening.

On the following possession, Bizzy blocked Zion, and the Suns made free throws to win the game.

Chris Paul finished with eight assists and eight points. With 16 in the fourth, Zion finished with 28 points. Josh Okogie.
