The Green With Envy crew is back at work following a week off to enjoy the offseason. After Grant Williams left the Celtics, I had a little conversation with him during the off-season.
We talked about his love of mentoring, a recent generous grant from Quest Nutrition to his Grant Williams Family Foundation, and a few lighthearted topics like whether he was actually the best player on the team.
Williams also discussed the most discouraging times in his Celtics career as well as the things he is focusing on this summer to be ready for the Dallas Mavericks’ roster come next season.
There’s a lot of catching up on as well. When Joel Embiid stated that he wanted to compete for championships, whether in Philadelphia or elsewhere, the Philadelphia 76ers took notice. This prompted the customary [insert superstar] to Boston speculations.
According to Heavy’s Steve Bulpett, Malcolm Brogdon is not being made available to teams, even though a trade for Kristaps Porzingis was supposed to include him. Ahead of the FIBA World Cup, Payton Pritchard has also been added to the roster USA select roster.
In the NBA, a week is a long time, and even in the dead of the summer, news and updates are released often.

The guys from Green With Envy also talk about if Dalano Banton will have an advantage because of his size and length because of his defensive potential in drop and zone coverages, or whether Payton Pritchard is the real third guard in the rotation. Of course, now that Brad Stevens and Joe Mazzulla have assembled a new coaching staff led by Sam Cassell and Charles Lee, you can anticipate some talk about possible system modifications.
