Mark Williams, a local favorite, was eliminated from the Snooker Shoot Out on Friday night in Swansea Arena in front of an enthusiastic home crowd.
After a tight game in which Williams led 8-3 at the three minutes and thirty second mark, just 11 points were scored, the world No. 8 lost 30-9 to world No. 89 Hammad Miah.
However, Miah swiftly seized over and did not give the 2022 Shoot Out finalist enough time to reenter the competition after Williams overcut a pink and shook the middle pocket.
Anthony Hamilton, often referred to as “The Sheriff of Pottingham,” acknowledged that prior to their match, he had never heard of Jiang Jin. Despite this, Hamilton defeated the Chinese player 76-0 to go to the round of 32.
Zehuang Long, making his tournament debut, defeated Noppon Saengkham 68–7. Even so, Noppon received one last applause from the Swansea Arena audience when he mishit his cue ball during his attempt to pot what turned out to be his final shot, ensuring loss.
In the following match, Cao Yupeng defeated Julien Leclerq 51-0. Cao’s play of getting the cue ball behind the green was a great safety stroke. The cue ball was struck so forcefully by Leclerq that it sailed off the table.
Graeme Dott defeated Jackson Page 72–5 to advance unharmed into the third round.
By taking advantage of a lengthy attempt that was missed to the yellow pocket, Mark Davis defeats Tian Pengfei 50–21.
Jimmy Robertson, the 2018 European Masters winner, defeated David Gilbert 40–36 after trailing 36–1. Robertson saw a long red to evade Gilbert’s mediocre safety shot. With twenty-five seconds left, he potted a black and took his time on the remaining shots to secure the victory.
Iulian Boiko of Ukraine defeated Robbie Williams 62-8 with a brilliant performance.

In an all-Welsh match, Dylan Emery defeated Alfie Davies 58-28 to go to the third round. After defeating Zhang Anda, the champion of the International Championship, 49-42, Zak Surety advanced to the round of 32.
Xu Si makes a fantastic comeback to defeat Jamie Clarke 47–42. Si overcame a 19-point deficit with one minute remaining in the contest to win spectacularly.
