Snoopy Makes His Debut on the Dials of Two Limited Edition Seiko 5 Sports………
Possibly the most well-known and beloved dog in the world, Snoopy has adorable puppy eyes, long floppy ears, and immaculate white fur. The exceptionally gifted beagle, who expresses himself through dance moves, is well-known for his wide range of cultural pursuits and athletic endeavors, which include figure skating, surfing, and sophisticated painting and world literature (such as Tolstoy’s War and Peace). He also wears black sunglasses when surfing. In Charles M. Schulz’s Peanuts, Snoopy has been Charlie Brown’s devoted companion since 1950.
Two stainless-steel Limited Editions based on the SKX Sports Style and Field Sports Style models are now being released to commemorate the 55th anniversary of the Seiko 5 Sports collection. The Peanuts character’s visuals have been taken from the original newspaper cartoon strips.
Snoopy is a surfer on a personalized Seiko 5 Sports design board on the dial of the SRPK25K1. The beagle is seen in action on the caseback. This 8,900-piece watch has a 38-millimeter diameter and can withstand up to 10 bar of water pressure. The typeface on the unidirectional bezel, which draws inspiration from the original Peanuts font, is a charming detail.
When converted to USD, the Seiko reference SRPK25K1 is priced at about $430.
With his beagle ears acting as propellers, Snoopy is depicted flying through the air like a helicopter in the SRPK27K1 design. Woodstock, his sidekick, is pictured as a pilot and is seated on his lap.
The watch’s caseback, which is limited to 6,500 pieces, has a parachute that is reminiscent of the original Seiko 5 Sports design. This newcomer has a diameter of 36 mm and a 10-bar water resistance. Both watches have Lumibrite on their dials for nighttime legibility and are powered by Seiko’s 4R36 self-winding caliber. They’ll be accessible starting in June 2023.
When converted to USD, the Seiko reference SRPK27K1 is priced at about $410.
