Good news;A look at Ronnie O’Sullivan’s record as oldest and youngest UK snooker champion…

After winning his eighth title on Sunday night, Ronnie O’Sullivan is now both the youngest and the oldest UK champion in snooker.

This is his performance in the event.

In 1993, at the age of 17, O’Sullivan defeated rival Stephen Hendry to become the youngest winner of the event and win his first UK title.

Three decades later, and two days shy of turning forty-eight, he defeats Ding Junhui 10-7 to remove Doug Mountjoy from the record books as the oldest champion.

In addition, O’Sullivan won in 1997, 2001, 2007, 2014, and back-to-back in 2017 and 2018. He became the first person to successfully defend the UK title since Hendry did so in 1996.

With six victories from Steve Davis and five from Hendry, he has now surpassed Steve Davis’ record of eight UK titles.

record for three crowns
In addition, O’Sullivan already owned the record for the most victories in the World, UK, and Masters, the “triple crown” events in snooker.

His victory on Sunday marked his 22nd victory and his 40th ranking title, both of which put him four ahead of Hendry in the records. The Masters is not considered a ranking title because it is an invitational competition.

O’Sullivan shares the modern-era record for the most World Championship victories with the Scot, having won both the Masters and the World Championship seven times apiece. This is a record for the Masters, with O’Sullivan having one more title than Hendry.
