With 52 points, Devin Booker dominates as the Suns easily defeat the Pelicans.
With a game-changing comeback victory over the Kings, the Phoenix Suns, powered by Devin Booker, won four games in a row.
For the second time this season, Booker scored 25 points in the first quarter right out of the gate. On 9/11, he took this action.
Phoenix was able to take an early 41-28 advantage and maintained it for the remainder of the game. The Suns led the whole game, with the exception of the first few minutes; their biggest advantage was thirty.
With his latest outing against the Pelicans, Booker scored a season-high 52 points on 18-30 shooting, which was uncannily close to his previous outing of 58 points. Had it not been for the Suns’ commanding advantage, Booker would have had no trouble matching that 58-point total once more.
With the exception of Eric Gordon, who went 1–8 from beyond the arc, the Suns performed admirably in what could be considered their most emphatic victory of the year. In light of Phoenix’s difficulties against teams ranked higher than 500, this performance was encouraging for the future.
Phoenix stopped the Pelicans from shooting 8–40 from outside the arc on defense. Considering that the Pelicans rank third in the NBA in terms of three-point shooting percentage, this is really astounding.
After winning 128-109 in the end, the Suns are back to five games above.500 and have tied their second-longest winning run of the year.
The Phoenix Suns will next play the Indiana Pacers at Footprint Center on Friday.
