2024 NFL Free Agency: Kirk Cousins, Derrick Henry, and other players will have fresh looks for the Cowboys this season.
The clubs that the Dallas Cowboys will play in 2024 will have a lot of fresh faces on them.
The Dallas Cowboys haven’t exactly had much to show for their first few days of free agency, which are almost over. The circle of time is flat. However, there has been a ton of action in the NFL, and a lot of it will have an effect on the Cowboys in one way or another.
Naturally, we are referring to the opponents Dallas will face in 2024; a number of them have undergone major free agency changes as of this writing.
About the teams in the NFC East alone, there has been a frenzy of action. While the New York Giants were busy getting Brian Burns dealt, the Philadelphia Eagles added Bryce Huff and Saquon Barkley, among others. Along with the Washington Commanders, both teams added offensive line support, notably from former Cowboys center Tyler Biadasz.
Biadasz is one of three Cowboys (so far) on Dan Quinn’s new squad; Dante Fowler and Dorance Armstrong may take a carpool. As mentioned, though, there is a ton of action from every opponent the Cowboys face in 2024.
Derrick Henry will take over as the top back for the Baltimore Ravens, so Barkley won’t be the only rookie at the position Dallas will face. Furthermore, Zack Moss, who was reportedly too costly for Dallas, is now a member of Cincinnati, and Joe Mixon, a former ball carrier for Cincinnati, is now a member of the Houston Texans. Although they did not negotiate for him, the Cleveland Browns acquired wide receiver Jerry Jeudy in exchange for Dallas’ first meeting with Amari Cooper.
Regarding quarterbacks, the Cowboys’ schedule features both of the greatest changes made to the NFL. Dallas will pay visits to the Pittsburgh Steelers, led by Russell Wilson, and the Atlanta Falcons, led by Kirk Cousins. It’s also important to note that Pittsburgh signed Patrick Queen, a former linebacker with the Ravens.
That means that 11 of the 17 games will be played against clubs that have already experienced significant offseason changes, even though it goes without saying that all of the other teams have made their fair share of changes as well.
