Out of their 15-man roster, the Boston Celtics have one space open.

Neemias Queta is the front-runner to take the last spot.

In 14.5 minutes a game this season, Queta is averaging 5.3 points and 5.3 rebounds. The product of Portugal is eligible to play for the Celtics in 50 regular season games under his current two-way contract.

Brad Stevens said that Queta will stay in the Boston rotation, via Inside The Celtics.

He works diligently. He has performed admirably for us as a player. We knew when we brought him in that he would be spending a lot more time in Boston than in Maine since we would have Al sitting next to him while Kristaps would be sitting sometimes. Luke’s injury during warm-ups a few weeks ago caught us off guard, but now that he’s back, we feel a little bit more confident there. He did a great job, which has been clearly noticed.

Stevens is not taken aback by Queta’s performance on the court.

Stevens responded, “No, they haven’t [surprised me].” “They are skilled athletes. It also makes the task a little simpler when you’re surrounded by talented players, especially our guards and wings. When you get to the rim, your man will be on you, so they will either toss it up to you or out to the other guy for a wide-open three. They did a fantastic job carrying out their responsibilities.

February 8 is the deadline for NBA trades.
